Using rsContext Without Installing It

If you have some experience with PHP and installing scripts, and your web server supports PHP, it's best to install the script on your own server. If you are less experienced with PHP and scripts, or simply wish to try using rsContext, you can use the copy running on BrowseNodes.com.

The following instructions describe how to use rsContext without installing it on your server by calling the copy of the script on our server.

rsContext is installed on the BrowseNodes.com server and you are welcome to use it to display text ads on your web site. This allows you to easily and quickly see an example of how rsContext works before installing it on your server. And it saves you the trouble of installing rsContext on your server.

See Using rsContext for instructions on how to call the rsContext script and display it's output in your web site. Be sure to use http://www.browsenodes.com/ads/rscontext.php as the path to the installed script (as shown in the examples).

Also, be sure to include your Amazon.com Associates ID (and your Amazon.co.uk Associates ID, if you have one) in each call you make to rsContext. rsContext will use your Associates ID 75% of the time it is called if you include your Associates ID in the call to the script. Our Associates ID will be used 25% of the time. If you fail to include your Associate ID when calling rsContext, our Associate ID will be used 100% of the time.

rsContext uses the same Associate ID for all of the ads it displays at one time. When run, it uses a random number to decide whether to use your Associate ID in all the ads or ours. Generally, once every four times it is called, it will use our ID in place of yours.

Please see Using rsContext for a description of how to use rsContext.
